Are your standards indicative of a bigger problem?

Lifestyle, Mindset

I was recently talking to my coach and he said I needed to uplevel my standards.  As we talked, we got on the subject of our ideal clients and how magical it is to work with people who are really ready for the work you do.

It lights you up, and you lose track of time.  Amazing results happen!  It energizes you instead of being drained by the end of the day.

He used the analogy of winemaking (perfect analogy for me because I love wine).  He talked about how for a great winemaker to make a great bottle of wine, they look to buy premium grapes. The better the grapes, the better the wine they can make.  That is the standard.  They have to find premium grapes.  Buying grapes that don’t live up to this standard makes it almost impossible for a winemaker to make a great bottle of wine.

After our call, I thought about this and the work I do with people.

My question to you is do you need to uplevel your standards to create the life you want to live? To have the fulfillment, meaning, and success you want to have? To have the relationships you want in your life?

If you feel frustrated, tired, dissatisfied, and think, “There has to be something more,” it’s time to uplevel your standards.

The first standards you want to uplevel is what you expect of yourself.

To stop playing small, face the patterns keeping you small, and release the powerful woman who is knocking on your door.  To create a life of fulfillment, meaning, and Impact!

Your light is getting too big to hide!!

Here are a few places to look for standards that you will want to uplevel:

  1. Your priorities
  2. What you make excuses for
  3. Where you make concessions for others “that’s ok…”

As always I would love to hear your thoughts.
